Officer RolesPresident The President is charged with the Leadership of the Club. Vice President - Education The Vice President - Education is responsible for ensuring that the members progress on the Toastmaster International public speaking program and leads the Club meeting in the absence of the President. Vice President - Membership The Vice President - Membership is responsible for talking with guests to inform them of what Toastmasters and the Club have to offer and leads the Club meeting in the absence of the President and Vice President - Education. Vice President - Public Relations The Vice President - Public Relations is responsible for marketing the Club to the local community and leads the Club meeting in the absence of the President, Vice President - Education, and Vice President - Membership. Secretary/Treasurer The Secretary and Treasurer roles are combined in Club 1350. The Secretary/Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the Club including paying for the Club's use of its meeting room, processing member dues and new member applications, and ensuring that the Club meets the budget created by the Secretary/Treasurer and approved by the Club. Master Host The Master Host is responsible for setting up the meeting room including hanging the Club banner, the American Flag, keeping track of the inventory of the Club's supplies, submitting a request to the Secretary/Treasurer order replacement supplies, and setting any equipment needed by the speakers. Officer TermsEach Officer role is for a period of one year starting on July 1st and ending on June 30th of the subsequent calendar year. Nominations are gathered by the immediate Past President for presentation to the Club at the elections held each May. The new Officers are sworn into office by the last meeting in June by the immediate Past President. Between the elections and the taking of office, the transition team (current office holders) train their replacements on the duties and responsibilities of the office. |
